When a parent is alienated the focus on work is interrupted and therefore a person is mentally and physically stressed. The alienated parent is emotionally stressed and feeling unwell and this increases fatigue. The effects may differ from person to person.

A parent can be confined to him/ herself and may consider being bullied if talking about the issue with colleagues. It can increase the incidence rate and may endanger the safety of associates and people.

Here are some of the heightened risks at work:

  • Risk of endangering one's health and safety

  • Risk of endangering members of the public, and co-workers

  • Risk of property and asset damage

  • Compensation claims

  • Business disruption

  • Costs and higher insurance premiums

Bezzina willl talk about ways to minimize the risks and help parents in this situation
